I have been getting an error recently that I don't know what means. If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it. It usually occurs using IE. It reads as follows:
The instruction at "0x10005f6c" referenced memory at "0x10005f6c". The memory could not be "read".
Thanks in advance for any help.

It usually occurs using IE.
I would suggest not using IE. use firefox!!!
But regarding the error, I am am not certain. It sounds like bad memory (I got some funny errors and BSOD with a bad stick of RAM). CAn you try the RAM on another machine?

Yeah I could test on another machine. I ran memtest though and found no errors. If there was something wrong would memtest find it?
thanks for your help

This type of error is quite difficult to diagnose. When you get all the way up to Windows (instead of a DOS-level program or something in the BIOS) you introduce so many different ways for "bad memory" events to occur it isn't even funny.
When I see something like this error, the first things I check for are:
1. is this a repeat error? If not, it might be just some freak occurence
2. did I just install any new drivers? This is the #1 cause of windows instability
3. did I just install any new applications?
4. did I just install any new hardware?
In that order.

I've never used memtest, so I can't comment, but other on this board have and it was good for them. I figure it would. i ran the dell diagnostics on my system, and it discovered the faulty RAM.
