Fairly new XPS gen2 with updated drivers and no viruses or spyware that I can detect. I've had no problems except that I've noticed lately that my laptop will reboot if it is on with the lid closed after around 5-10 or so minutes sometimes for no reason. I have the power settings to keep it on all the time and I have never seen this happen before. Other than that, the notebook runs fine while I'm on it. It's when I walk away that I'll be back on the login screen. I just watched it do it when the screensaver was running too... first time I've seen that happen.

Help! Thanks in advance

Specs:
XPS gen2
Windows XP Pro
Intel Pentium M 2.0GHz
Geforce Go 6800 Ultra (77.77)
100gig hard drive

All drivers and other programs are completely updated.

I had it happen on my tablet last night. I dunno how it happened but I'm guessing it blue screened and rebooted itself

Have you undervolted the CPU?

Nope - Just formatted the entire thing yesterday and it's running like a God. I still dont know what the problem was - my ram is fine. I think there was some sort of program confliction. The ONLY thing that's differnt now (minus the bloatware from dell) is that I have not updated my firmware on the 6800 Ultra. I'm not gaming now, so I'm going to leave it till I need it updated, but maybe the 77.77 was having problems? Still unsure.... if you're having this problem though, try a format. Worked wonders.

Maybe it misses you and has a nervous breakdown when you leave

On a serious note, it definately could a a program conflict. I had a problem recently when I upgraded to the latest Omegadrivers. Whenever I would go into the advanced settings in Display Properties, the system would blue screen and reboot. Going back to the old drivers fixed it.
