was wondering if the x300 that i have in my notebook is soldered to the motherboard (like someone told me it may). doesn't sound right to me, so here i am asking some of the experts about it. i upgrade my hard drive and memory no problem, but if possible, the next steps are going to be cpu (which i heard is a lot easier to do) and possibly the video card. i need to stay up to date. currently im on pentium m 1.6ghz, 2gb pc4200 ddr2 ocz ram, toshiba 80gb 5400rpm 16mb cache, ati x300 video card. let me know what you guys know about upgrading the cpu/video card

you can upgrade to the 6800 256 MB

you can also upgrade the CPU. Anything with a 533mhz FSB works or you can pin mod a 400mhz but thats harder

its not hard. There are instruction manuals on dell's site available for upgrading a video card.

The CPU is also easy to upgrade but the cost for a new (higher) p-m is really expensive (if bought new and not from ebay)

Here's the link for CPU:
