NOTE: This is still in its very early stages. I have a ton of pics but I haven't had time to add them yet. I will also add a lot more text. Expect a major update tomorrow!

Prequel: I had a Sager 5670 for just about two years when its hard drive seemed to slow down to the point where it was unbearable. It also crashed at random, at least three times a day. I ordered a 60GB 7200rpm Hitachi replacement but that took two months to be shipped thanks to a major shortage of these drives. Despite the new hard drive, the crashing issues were not resolved. Indeed, the laptop fails to boot 9 out of 10 times I attempt to make it boot. And even if I successfully boot into XP Pro SP2 or Fedora Core 4, it will crash within the hour. So, I realized, that it was time for a new laptop.

Requirements: Now, the Sager's power was great. Especially when HL2 came out and later with BF2, but it was noisier than my neighbor's Porsche at redline and weighed enough so that after lugging it around on one shoulder for six hours once, I thought I would suffer permanent nerve damage in that arm. Oh yeah, did I mention that the battery lasted all of, oh 2 hours at best. more like 1 hour and 10 min. with WiFi and BT on.

So, I needed a very light laptop that was also very quiet (harder to find than you think) and something that had ridiculous battery life. I also had to have Firewire because of my backup hard drive and that is actually rare in such small notebooks. (See IBM X series, Fujitsu 7010, and Dells)
