Heya, yesterday I bought my first laptop, whoooo! :)

Acer AS1690-WLMI
- Pentium M - 2GHZ, 533 FSB, 2MB L2 Cache
- 1GB DDR2 Dual Channel RAM
- ATI Mobility Radeon x700, 64MB VRAM - PCI Express
- 100GB Harddrive
- 15.4″ WXGA (Widesceen) CrystalBrite TFT LCD
- Slot loading DVD-Dual (DVD+R Double Layer/DVD +- RW)
- 802.11 b/g Wireless

All of this for $1860 CAD after tax ($1630 CAD, ~$1300 USD, before tax), a sweet deal.

I've played around with it non stop all day today (and yesterday), absolutely no problems/complaints. Runs fast and quiet, the display is awesome!

Plays Battle Field 2 (Demo) like it was built for it. I maxxed out all settings in GuildWars, no problems. Battery lasted between 4-5 hours today ( don't know the exact time, I went away for little periods of time, sometimes shutting the screen off, sometimes setting it to stand-by ).

Overall I am VERY happy with it, everything I wanted and more, cheap too!

I just got one question:
The ENTER key is not completely attached. If I hit the top right part of the key, the front pops up, it can be easilly lifted up, but not taken off. Other keys do not have this 'option'. I talked to another guy who owns this same laptop (got it from the same place as me), and he has the same thing. Is this some kind of feature? What's the point?

hey there! I'm so excited to hear you bought this laptop...it's the exact one I'm looking at only with a 2 ghz processor instead of a 1.7. I'm not sure if I'm getting a deal on it or not though, so maybe you could tell me...Here's a link to my post:

Also, I have a few random questions here: http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=103071

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy your laptop!
