Hi, I've just ordered a large 20inch widescreen TFT (Acer AL2032WM) with a native resolution of 1680x1050 to go with my Acer Ferrari 4005. Its due for delivery today but I'm just having last minute compatibility worries! - can anyone confirm if the ATI mobility X700 will support an external resolution of 1680x1050? I was hoping to connect it to the Ferrari's DVI output. I can't find a list of supported resolutions on the ATI website either! Please someone allay my worries! Thanks

I'm 90% sure it does since my 8103 supported 1920 x 1080 via DVI to my 37" LCD.

Yes, it will support resolution at 1680x1050, and will go much higher than that as well.

Please post pictures with your setup, once you get it in!

Thanks for your help! Do you have your laptop connected to an external widescreen monitor as well? I hope you're absolutley positive about that because I don't want to open the box (invalidating any refund on unopened product return) to find the lappy doesn't support 1680x1050 external res! But i'm sure you're right lol I'm just worrying too much!

I'll def post pics of the setup

If you simply install the newest drivers, you'll see what the external resolution support is. I've had my notebook plugged into a plasma tv before with the highest resolution possible, and it worked fine. Recently I was plugged into a projector, and I had to turn the external res down, because the projector only supported lower res settings! (below 1200x800).

The laptop and screen just arrived a few minutes ago - just setting everything up now - will let you know how it goes!
