hello!

does anyone know if there is a way to stop the stupid fan in a aspire 1690 laptop?

in windows or linux the fan is always working, the bios doesn't help, in the windows acer software there's an option to "fan always on" but if i turn it on or off nothing changes

anyone knows anything about this?

thanks!

Try to set up PowerPlay at "Max Battery Mode". Default config is "Max performance", and that config stresses the card a lot.

PowerPlay: right-clic button on the desktop, properties, configuration tab, Advanced Options, PowerPlay Tab.

Have you checked your ePowerManagement config?? If you are running always at 1.7, 2 GHz or whatever your CPU will keep hot, and fan will never turn off.....

Yes, I mean e Power management...

But what I am referring to in the previous post is that you should check PowerPlay, which is a feature of graphical card. I have already described what you have to do to get to the PowerPlay interface.
