so i got a copy of xandros 3.0 and gave it a spin. installed it and seems to work ok i suppose. now the problems are:
-get wifi to work (no problem, install madwifi and go from there)
- 3D video (ok fine, install fglrx and edit xorg.conf, not too bad)
- sound (reconfigure alsa i suppose...but not sure)
- get it to boot (seems to get stuck on usb, so i need to edit lilo.conf to nousb)
I'll be posting and keeping you people up to date on how its going.
here is my thing. my mouse and keyboard are USB (wireless but the reciever is on USB) anyway, point is i need to get it to boot and then have the keyboard and mouse WORK. any help?
anyway, if you have comments / advice on any of the above points, feel free to post.

ok, maybe its not just a simple "nousb" i added that to lilo.conf and it still freezes. It will only boot with all usb devices unplugged and then replugged when its done. Not cool. Would acpi have anything to do with it? Right now its on "acpi=on" ...what if i turn it off?
