I have some issues with my dell 8600 laptop and my hp8250 printer with bluetooth adaptor.
i can not get the laptop to find the printer. i might add it was detecting it and then all of a sudden when i powered up yesterday it could not find it.
when i try to detect devices within a range it will not detect the printer.it detects my bluetooth headset but not the printer.
can anyone provide step by step help? i am very frustrated and have tried everything i know.
thanks

Disconnect/Reconnect (power) from the printer adapter.
They usually will be in "Discover" mode for the first few minutes after power is turned on.

First try a simple hardware fix, i needed to relocate my (ioGear) Printer Adapter by a few inches, as it is at the limit of BT Range and has lots of interference between.
I have had the best results, from a software standpoint, by installing my printer using Start; Printers & Faxes, Add Printer and install it as a Bluetooth Printer, letting it 'Discover' my Bluetooth and install, unstead of using Bluetooth's "Wizard" or "Add Device" function.
When the 'Add Printer' does not see the printer, select bottom option of 'install anyway' and on the next page there will be the Bluetooth option available in the lower box.

Are you using a Dell internal adapter or a different brand utilizing the USB port?

ok i figured out it was some kind of security setting, but i played in there so much i dont really know what i did to fix it, also not sure how it would have changed. like i said i was printing earlier in the day and then all of a sudden it wasnt detecting my printer. very strange.
