View Full Version : Inspiron 6000 Cant Play DVDs

Alright guys here's the dealio... I just received my Inspiron 6000 in the mail today.... I immediately began uninstalling some of the random bs programs that Dell installs and I believe that I accidentally removed something that I shouldn't have. For some reason my DVD player will not automatically load a DVD that I put in it... When I manually run the DVD through My Computer it launches the InterActual Player and then give me an error message: "Error PL4013 Playback failed due to a problem with the video subsystem. You may be using an unsupported display mode or your system may not have a working decoder installed. Please ensure that your DVD decoder is functioning properly..." blah blah blah.. Can anyone tell me where I can find this driver and help me fix this problem? Thanks in advance.:scratch: :scratch: :scratch:

It's not a driver... It's the DVD decoder that you have apparently uninstalled (probably PowerDVD) and are now missing. Cntrl+F11 at boot to restore your system, or install a DVD player. Here are a few good free ones:
