Fedora doesn't detect either my video and audiocard, so I can't get the exact resolution of my screen and can't hear anything. I also had to disconnect my PCMCIA devices cause Fedora didn't want to boot after freezing when activating the PCMCIA devices.
Does anyone knows how to solve some or evryone of this problems? Does anyones know if other linux-based OS have better perfomances than Fedora on my laptop?
Thanks.

There are tons of distros to choose from, and Fedora isn't one of the favorites here. If you check through abf's history here you'll notice he started a few threads comparing distros.
Ubuntu seems to have the best hardware compliance and is very easy to get going because of the endless community resources.

no really. Ubuntu is a fantastic noob-friendly, laptop-friendly distro (except for Asus Z71v). If you prefer KDE to Gnome, then take a look at PCLinuxOS, its quite fast, and things JUST WORK. Those are are I think by far on top of my favorites list. There is always gentoo which is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but not for a noob, as I assume you are.
If you do go Ubuntu, go Ubuntu, not any alternatives. You don't need the features of Edubuntu, Xubuntu is not complete yet, and Kubuntu just is plagued with bugs at this stage.
As for Fedora... i've tried FC, FC1, 2, 3, and 4 and every single time it failed me more times than John Kerry flip-flopped during his campaign. I think the only other distro that I tried that was worse, was Suse.
