I lost my restore Cd's where can I get new ones? is it possible to download cd images from some where I need to restart my windows because its acting up and I dont want to use a pirated copy. Is there any way I can install windows from another CD and use the key at the bottom of the laptop?
Thanks any help is appreciated.
Use the Acer-E Settings and go via the E button on the right to activate it. Type the password and opt for e-recovery. It should guide you through the rest of the recovery. It should use a hidden partition where the system is stored. Or you can use a system bootable CD, which you can burn right there.
cheers
Tom

ok I open up E-manager using an icon on the desktop and I can't find the options your describing there is a hidden partition on my HDD though and I am not sure how to get to them . I would use the restore cd's except I dont have them.

Well,
what I do is: I go to acer e-settings, choose acer e-recovery and then I type six zeros as the password. Then there are just two options:
1. Recovery settings: Create a backup files and Change passowrd
2. Recovery actions...
So opt for your wished one. You gotta have this, if you have the original OEM OS installed.

That is quite a problem then I assume this happens because the copy of the Windows from your friend has different installation than the original OEM coming with TM8100. And therefor you can opt for restoring from that point. You have to get you the CDs or at least try to install the Acer E-Manager (found on the FTP of Acer - should be) cause that might be the way to open the hidden partition and run the recovery. It is there.
The other way would be to install the regular copy of Windows and download the drivers and run it this way if you do not have the recovery set.
