This 5670 is not without problems with its hardware and software.

But let's talk software:

When I first bought the PC and did the startup process, it hanged for over an hour on step 14 of it's 21 step install process (I think it was the DVD setup step).

I had to pull the battery to get any response out of it.

It then resumed on that step and appeared to finish fine.

But then started the problems with the eNet manager dropping my wireless connection, at will, and re-establishing it 30 seconds later. None of the 3 other laptops have this issue with these routers.

Then started the ePower manager problems. Three times I found it woke up from standby on it's own. And when it did that last night during my test, I woke up and found out the computer not only resumed itself, but also completely ignored its own instructions to hibernate when the power gets below 10%. So what did it do? A belly flop of a power down that resulted in having to check the drive for issues.

All the problems? I don't think so! Now problems with eLaunch manager. I have lost control of the buttons for the volume, the switching between internal and external screens (great if you have to give a presentation) and the cute little eLaunch buttons at the top stopped working.

So, I come up with some bright idea to re-install eLaunch by downloading it from the support site. When I run the installer, it just hangs and I have to kill the process.

So aside from the heat of this unit and bad ergonomics, and annoying glaring screen, hope you don't run into these problems also.

Any suggestions as to how to handle these issues? I am all ears!

I wish it came with its own recover disk. The ones I made probably have the problems built in. I would happy to pay the extra $.50 that it would have cost to bundle a DVD disk like Toshiba did when I bought a $600 laptop from them 2 year ago...
