Do You Prefer Glossy or Matte?

Just wondering what everyones preferences are when it comes to laptop displays.

Of the notebooks I've seen, I like glossy the most. Just my opinion. On glossy screens, colors look amazing, and my wife, who does professional photography, has a screen on her Toshiba (Tru-Brite) that looks MUCH nicer than mine, even though my comp is much better (spec-wise).

Matte any day of the week, twice on sundays. Every glossy display i've seen [minus sony] had great colors but the reflections and glare killed the experience. I dont understand how people can concentrate on their displays when its acting like a mirror the whole time. Whenever the screen emits a dark picture [movie for instance], all i can see is myself and i lose interest in what im watchign since its a distraction.

When my friend 1st showed me his glossy Fuji a couple of years ago, I thought it was awesome!
He then let me borrow it for a 2-week trip to the Carribeans... It was still nice to look at, but the glare and reflections were terrible.
When I was shopping for my Ferrari, I didn't need the specs of the 4005, I would have been ok with the 4002 BUT I didn't want the glossy screen...

Well I not sure if glossy screens are more durable, the glare for sure would start to get to me if I think about it. I've worked on nothing but matte screens.

Yesterday at compusa I saw the 5672 Acer and the screen looked pretty nice. I just ordered the 8204, I just hope the screen is nice enough, i.e. bright enough.
