Ferrari Issue: Yellow Sticker

Hi, I am trying to reinstall a fresh copy of the OS but during setup it ask for "windows product keythat can be found on a yellow sticker" I have no idea what they are talking about and none of my keys seem to work...any ideas:scratch:

Ther should be a sticker with the key on the bottom of the laptop. That key will only work with an OEM version of windows though.

Get a Corporate Edition, you don't need to activate it. That's as much help as I can give.

guess what? somehow I got the recovery cd's to run and it re-installed my os, files etc... Even after I fromated and partionned all drives into 1 NTFS drive...go figure

Hi, there is no such thing as a 'corporate' edition, so it will be impossible to purchase. This often refers to pirated versions.....

This is completely wrong - although telling someone to "get a corporate version" is probably against the rules.

The Microsoft Select versions of their software have the activation routines disabled as long as you use certain keys with them. Think about it, Microsoft can not expect a company with 40,000 systems to all go out and activate Windows.

So there are "Corporate" versions, but you don't just go out and "get them".

Hi, even MS don't call it a 'Corporate Version' let alone a 'Corporate Edition', they refer to it as XP that uses volume licencing for corporations, see here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/howtobuy/corpSmallBiz.mspx
