Yea I think there isnt much support for the 'n' series of wireless yet in linux as I am not even sure that the standard ever got approved.

At any rate, what you will want is something called ndiswrapper, it will be a bit tricky to set up for a noob(No offense intended) as I dont believe it is availiable as an APT package, but what that will essentially do is load the windows drivers so you can use your wireless card. Installing it consists of downloading the source code and installing it, and then telling it where your windows driver is located on your HD. I cant remember the exact commands for t he latter half as I havent used it in some time so I will let others see if they can remember the exact commands to post for you, but download it, unzip it, and take a look at the documentation and see if you can figure it out in the meantime, posting up questions as you go. Youll learn a little more about your OS doing it that way;)

Post your questions in the Ubuntu forums and you will get specific answers. I've been running Ubuntu for months and use it daily and I'm no linux expert. ndiswrapper is NOT hard to setup...there are guides for it step by step and very easy to follow. First thing I would suggest is determining the chipset your wifi card uses and post that information in your question on the ubuntu forums.
