Recieved it on saturday, here's what I've found do far:
SPECS
14.1" Widescreen Brightview
80gig 4200rpm
1024Mb PC2700 ram
DL DVD-RW
Centrino Dothan 1.6 (725A) ----> pin modded to 2.13
Intel 900GMA
5.33 lbs
PROS:
Pin modded the 1.6 that afternoon, has been running a stable 2.13 since
Great screen, looks better than my 19
No overheating issues with mod
Battery life is around 3 hours, havn't timed it out completely as its always been plugged in except for one run down
Scored 2796 in PCmark04 at 1.6, and 3509 at 2.13 (fresh start up of windows, never closed anything that wouldn't have booted with the O/S)
Cheap, compared to laptops with similar specs
Excellent wireless coverage with the Pro BG card
Decent headphones
Remote is handy, as well as location of S-Video port near rear of laptop
Suprisingly good resolution on a SDTV
All of the HP extras (junk) never really mattered as I formatted to go to XP Pro
CONS:
Video card (or lack there of)
For the unexperienced, the pin mod may be overwhelming
Lack of QuickPlay 2.0
No audio Jack on the rear of unit (ugly wire showing when hooked up to a tv)
So far very happy with the laptop. I'm not too into gaming but onboard video that can barely handle 1080p is the only letdown so far (maybe a 735 or 745 pin modded, faster ram and HDD would overcome some of the GPU's bottlenecks). Any questions feel free to fire away.
