Okay, now I'm curious:

I was lookin' through their site a little more in-depth, and I was curious... Chameleon... what is it? Is the heat sensitive chameleon they were speaking of on their site?

I believe so. It was a lot extra because that paint is apparently very expensive. I knew someone who had their whole car painted in it.... was like $2000+

Im not really sure lol. I think it wouldn't since pctorque and sager are going to soon be offering the same paint jobs from the same people. It would be kind of ironic.

No, its an original creation, but yes it does remind me of FFVI which was probably my favorite FF game :)

That gives me an idea though.... how cool would a notebook with some of Amano's artwork on it look!

not a big fan of the anime thing (woulda picked sesshoumaru or kenshin, or better yet helsing moteif) other paint is nice, hrumm tho i dunno not downing it by any means i mean smoothe creations does really fantastic work

but the color changing paint is like, not worth it in a house setting? or even mobile, and yes to paint a full car with that pani is 2 grand, only 2 paint companies make it, dupont and i cant remember other, tho house of kolor has their own version that shows shades of certin colors (only blue/purple shades, red/brown shades ect ect)

but awesome paint job! better watch it tho, painted laptop= askng to get stolen, errr painted laptop= more so than any there laptop :p

gonna paint yout 5672? or did you sell it already?

I sold it a while back, once I got the sager back.
I am now just waiting a while to see about the next generation 9750's ... perhaps a 7900gtx :)

Yay, Smooth-Creations has put up some of their new works of art!
They have put up the Sager contest notebook as well as my notebook!
Their paintjobs are so addicting.... I am already coming up with ideas for when I get my next notebook or desktop :)

I have contacted smooth creations and they are going to do my 5720 in the very near future.

I have an insane design that I am working on involving Albert Einstein, Candy Apple Green Metallic/Heat-Sensitive Chameleon and some other cool details I cannot reveal just yet.

YEah. They are pretty cool with showing off their work. I am amazed at how well it looks - but not surprised because I have been getting the normal paintjobs (without graphics) for the last two systems.

I did just get back my CX7. I had the lid down with the colorshifting purple/blue and then in the middle, had them do the chinese calligraphy for the Rat - but in a way to match the silver tone of the remainder of the notebook. Got some shots up, but not all yet. It turned out nice and the metallic flakes in both the purple/blue and then the silver looks great as well.

Anyone looking to get a customized painted rig - definitely give smooth a chance to give you a quote. If you go their way - you will definitely be amazed.

It has been a blast... I was with my husband for almost 3 years before we got married.
Marriage is wonderful though. So many changes for me coming up. I will be finally moving to Japan at the end of July!

You send in the entire laptop to them. I shipped mine with ups insured for the whole amount that the notebook would cost to replace. SC ships it back the same way for you. I believe it in total took about 3 weeks. Any damage was guaranteed by them.. or if during shipping through ups.
I was very happy with their work, and if it were possible I would ship in my sff case for them to do.
Well, maybe some time in the future.
I am officially moving to Japan on July 24th.

Really beautiful design you got there. Must be a head turner. Was on smooth creations website and they actually have your laptop displayed in one of thier galleries. If their quality is this good, then I can't wait to see how they did on my Alienware Superman laptop...still waiting for arrival.

What I meant to say was that since Smooth Creations did a really good job on your laptop and they were the ones doing the painting for the Superman laptops I just couldn't wait to get my hands on it and see the laptop in person. :mmm: The pictures are in the link on my sig. :thumbup:
