Okay here's my question:
Which drivers yield the best performance currently with the x1400 on the Aspire 5672. I'm fairly satisfied with my gaming experience right now, but my 3dmark scores are lower than the average that I've been reading online, so I want to boost them a little, I'm far from an avid gamer, but I do like to kick back and I do like my computer at it's peak performance if possible.
Here's my current setup:
5672
Win XP Pro, 2GB RAM, All Acer software reinstalled, and most of it running, except a little msconfig tweaking.
I'm currently using the newest Omega drivers, based on catalyst 6.3
Here's my scores:
PCmark05: 3093 w/ a download running (so im not really concerned if this is low)
3Dmark05: 1692
Please help me raise my 3dmark scores and my gaming experience a little, I'm only interested in the best performing drivers, not any overclocking... this IS a laptop afterall people :) you're just crazy lol. This laptop's already hot enough. Which reminds me to also ask, is it true that disabling/removing the Acer Power Management software will reduce the heat during normal use? I don't really even like the software, I just havent had time to mess with that yet. Just like I really don't have time to try 100 different drivers and benchmark after each one :) Any response is much appreciated. Thanks.
