Does anyone have this same problem? at start up my lcd flashes a couple of times. It looks like it turns on and off really quick, 2-3 times in a row, everything is stock right now.

Every now and then it seems to get confused about the screen brightness, but it's not really going on and off.

On my machine, when I ever load the ATI Control Center it does that. Try turning off the "task icon" and see if that fixes it.

sounds like its reselecting refresh rate to me
crt's used to do that with a "nice" click to go with it.
if you dont suffer any performance issues, and while booted the display stays ok, I wouldnt worry about it.
Mine flickers on and fades into the big acer boot screen

dont think its a problem, probably just gfx card initialising :)

i hear about the new acers coming out... but i love this machine so much... I dont think ill sell this for another... i will probably keep it for another year or two.
But my silver control buttons on my touch pad still do not work for firefox.. does anyone know what i can do to make it work? It only works will internet explorer.. I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers many times.

forgot to ask but does anyone have a nice sleeve for this? I like the apple ones but they will probably not fit.

oh and try the generic synaptics drivers rather than the acer ones.

I got the following sleeve (http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.htm). I have purchased sleeves from http://www.sfbags.com/ for a couple of my laptops and they are great.
The acer ones are the 29-22 size
