Cat 6.4 dropped my 3d05 score 200 pts. Back to 6.3 - down 100 more

What's the deal? Just randomness?

Last night I installed the 6.4s and my score dropped to 4200 (when I had been hitting roughly 4400). Then I turn out 6.3s again - and it dropped another 100 points.

Seems for no apparent reason. Only possibility is that I had installed 3312 - but that was before the previous 4400 score.

I am thinking I am going to backtrack to 3309 (which had the best clock speeds out of all the bioses) and test with 6.3 again. Then if that doesn't boost it back, I'll try 3311. Then 3312. Then if those all failed, then I will try again 6.4s


Kinda a waste of time, but that difference matters when playing Oblivion :)

Have you done a driver cleaner to remove ALL traces of previous drivers

changing bioses as well as drivers? brave man :)
I am hanging on for the 6.4 omegas as I think they run better overall

I had 2664 3DMark05 marks with 6.2 and now with 6.4 it wen't down to 2600. That's almost a 3% drop. I'll run the test againg, if the score doesn't change I'll change back to 6.2.

I definitely did manage to completely uninstall them. Uninstalled via control panel, then rebooted, then ran Driver Cleaner 3, then installed them

Use registry cleaner like jv16 Power Tools. Check if you don't have any memory/CPU consuming processes running in the background. Test results may vary from one measure to another.
