View Full Version : Converting FAT to NTFS
Okay I got stuck here:
I found the command to type to prompt for the conversion of the FAT32 to NTFS - call me stupid - but I cant get to C:/>
I still am having C:/Documents and Settings/Username/ and cant get to the pure C to start the conversion...
any tips??

Type "cd C:\" without the quotes

Okay, oh sure, cd was the command, sorry:rolleyes: now I am back to the game, but then I type:
C:\> CONVERT C: /fs:ntfs
and I am getting this message:
The type of the file system is FAT32. Enter current volume for drive C:
what shourl I do now??

Well, so now I am getting a message that the volume needs to be dismounted first and the system asks me if I want to force dismount on this volume Y/N ???

Answer no, and the system will ask u if u want to convert to ntfs at the next restart :-)
