I´ve a question. On the HD of the Acer Ferrari 4000 is an partition of 3GB with the name PQ-Service. I have formatted it without any intent. Is the partition necessary for the book? I have no idea what on the partition was; I knew only that I have formatted the Partition.

I got the same thing. I think it's a virus. Just got it last week.

 You have formatted your Acer Recovery partition. If you still have a working system I suggest that you create an image copy of your hard drive ASAP. Acer recovery and Alt+F10 will no longer work.

No Problem if thats the only thing, because I have Acronis True Image on my Ferrari! Thats the only thing? Can I reinstall System without the Partition, or did the Installation-CD from Acer need the Partition?

@ocean158: I can´t be a Virus, because the Partion was on the book when I get it!

man what do I do now? Man one thing after another with this laptop. How did I delete my Acer recovery partition?

Could you guys give me a step by step of what I need to do. Should I convert the partition back to my C: using partition magic which i have on my laptop?

Thanks.

It's not a big deal. A lot of people immediately format all partitions and install Windows XP on a single NTFS partition, me included. If it was me I would convert the partitions to NTFS and merge them together to make 1 big one. But the choice is yours.

can we specify how many partitions to make and the size of each while reinstalling WinXP?
Sry, stupid question I know, but I just had an apparent brain fart...

Hey no Problem! Your Lappi runs without the Partition too, or not? Take Acronis True Image, so you don´t need any Acer Recovery!
