Hi all
I have an acer 5652 laptop which is very good for its price (t2300, 1gb, 100gb sata 5400, gf7600 256mb, bluetooth, tv etc.). I am very pleased from this machine but I have experienced a problem with tv. I have installed the latest drivers (the tv tuner is the avermedia m115), I have connected my (home) antenna and I scanned for channels. The result was nothing at all. I tried to change the country but the result was the same. I have winxp pro. If anyone can help... thank you very much.

Had similar problems with the built in software. My recommendation is to get the open source MediaPortal (http://www.team-mediaportal.com/) mediacenter application, which is of course free, and use that. It managed to find many many analogue and digital (DVBT) channels Arcade couldn't for some reason. And all with the Acer antenna which you get with the laptop.

Thank you for your instructions, I did what you said but the problem remains. It seems that I have no signal from my aerial in spite of it was connected. I decided to send my laptop at acer in order to fix my problem.

i've heard of cases where the connection between the antenna and the laptop has broken off. check your connector from the laptop side and the pin that should be there. if this is missing, you need a replacement from the acer service (good luck).

This was one of the first thing I have checked. Unfortunately (!) there wasn't any problem there...

Haha, trust me, this is NOT unfortunate (service from Greece goes to Italy and stays there for many weeks). Another things I have to mention is that in Greece (where I guess you are) the aerial signal is not good anywhere I tried with the supplied antenna of this laptop. ERT digital (the only DVBT channels in Greece - along with RIK - 4 in total) is a binary situation, where either you will have perferct signal or not at all using the digital receiver. On the other hand, in the UK using the same antenna I have perfect signal when I position it in a certain way in both analogue and digital.
Are you getting no signal at all or just bad reception?

Indeed I am from Greece!! I have no signal at all. I used different types of aerials (including the aerial I have for my home's tv which have perfect signal) in addition I tried to get digital signal with the laptops antenna and always I had the same results (no signal at all).
