mouse on 8204 doesnt' work

Not sure what happened, but I can't seem to get the mouse pad to work on the 8204. I disenabled and enabled the Synaptics application but to no avail.

Any ideas? The laptop works fine with a USB mouse.

Have you tried downloading the latest driver from the Synaptics website and installing that? Mine was flaky until I installed that one and since then it has been fine.

Just updated the driver and no changes. Any ideas? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no resolution.

Check that the device is enabled and showing up with no errors in Device Manager.

To elaborate on the previous post, have you tried using the Fn + F7 keys? That toggles the touchpad on or off.

man that was it, I'm an idiot, thanks a ton guys. Fn + F7, my friend borrowed my laptop for a day and pressed that combination by accident. Thanks again.
