Hi all

I dont know if anybody shares my opinion in this matter, but the designs of the mainstream laptops seem unnecessarily boring. Who remembers the Sony A215m or z? It was a classy machine with a nice aluminum cover and gentle curves, nothing flashy like those ferraris, and simple colors (if one insisted on calling them that). Now that the thing is off the market and apparently discontinued, I just dont know where to look. The Sony FEs and FSs are nice on picture but godawful realiter, everything else is either too slow, too small or too big, and I have yet to find any other companies willing to depart from the old school but decidedly uninteresting look they have so long sheathed their machines in.

What Im looking for is an at least partly silver platter with a beautiful keyboard, a top screen and gentle design, as well as the hardware to back it up. It doesnt have to be cutting edge, and as long as it has a good gfx card and a price that keeps below 2000 dollars, Ill be fine.

So guys, anybody who can help me out?

The sagers themselves are about the same price, sometimes cheeper, than the Asus models. Smooth creations charges about $400 or so for a good paint job on top of that. Not a small fortune and still cheeper (and better looking) than the really expensive botiques ;)
