I just wiped my windows partition off my laptop. Completely microsoft free except for my virtual machines. Took me almost a year to get to this point.

I am running cedega. Too many games I like work great with it. I'm finally getting a little more proficient in gimp so I don't need photoshop, but I still prefer it. I replaced 3dsmax with Houdini, which is absolutely amazing. Those were the critical things holding me back. Google Earth was the icing on the cake.

BT you tried out GimpShop? Coming from Photoshop it may make things a bit easier on you.

isn't gimpshop a version behind gimp usually so they can get the tweaks in

I tried gimpshop but abf is right, it's usually a release behind so that was an issue. The problems I have with gimp are more towards the shortcuts and behavior. Gimpshop seemed to only address the menus.

Anyway, I figured that it would be best to just use the regular version being that both were very awkward.

Well Gimpshop is a tweak of Gimp, and many more of the shotcuts are closer to what you would be used to from Photoshop. In as far as being a release behind, typically it isnt bad at all unless you are on Windows... in which case, well have fun;)
