When i purchased my dell about a year ago, i got it without the bluetooth card thinking i would never use it.

About a month ago, i purchased this keyboard / mouse / remote set
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2158,CONTENTID=10777
and have been using it without any problems since then.

Recently i purcahsed a new phone (Samsung D807) and besides the keyboard set this phone is the first thing i've tried to connect to my PC via bluetooth. They said that the lilttle USB drive i got with the logitech keyboard set should be no different than an internal bluetooth card and that i should be able to connect to my computer with bluetooth devices, but when i try to use a bluetooth program i get the message "Bluetooth Adapter was not detected!".

Basically I'm asking if the usb drive that came with the keyboard/mouse set is not able to be used like a bluetooth card, and if it is then what am i doing wrong?

Thanks..
-Andrew

How are you connecting the D807 with the computer? I was pretty sure cingular doesnt bundle software with there version of the slider phone.

i have the software but that is not the issue.. i can connect to a friends computer with it.

Problem is that my computer won't recgonize the usb blootooth thing and let me turn bluetooth on and off ect

Its most likely a driver issue with your USB dongle that came with your keyboard and mouse set. Have to tried looking for an updated driver stack first?

Your saying when you plug in the BT Dongle windows doesn't detect a new device and load drivers?

I have the drivers installed and everything, i even reinstaslled them before posting.. the keyboard / mouse work fine, but its like my computer still isnt bluetooth enabled or something...

Look under devices and see what driver it's using. make sure its not the Micosoft BT stack. I have had a lot of problems with that. I had to manually update the driver and force it to accept the driver disk.

Is there a BT icon in the system tray that is blue with a red B that turns white when you plug the dongle in?

There has never been a BT icon in the system tray, either red or blue :*(

quick, un install all devices tat have bleutooth drivers on you system, install the windcomm bluetooth stack.

Also you can try uninstalling your wireless card, my wireless was all messsed up when i put in my bluetooth card, but wheni uninstalled and reinstalled it, life was good

I would also get the internal card.
