I bought my laptop in christmas and this is the first major problem i've had since. Everything was fine and dandy yesterday when i rebooted the laptop after installing Medal of Honor. But right after showing the boot screen, the laptop just powered off and restarted. Now everytime I start the laptop it restarts after the boot screen. I left the laptop off all night and just tried it again and the same thing happened so i know there is no overheating issue. So far i've tried replacing the battery, running only on AC and so on, but no luck. Btw, the lappy performs fine if you boot from CD and try to repair windows. Any ideas? Thanks

P.S. I can go into to the BIOS and change things there as much as I want, but it just wont move past that stage.

Sounds as though Windows or some startup file has got damaged. I don't suppose you made a ghost of your system on the D:\ Drive?

You can get into Windows by using your CD Rom right?

If you can, you may have to manually copy 'the stuff you don't want to lose' over to the D:\ drive and get emanager to do a factory reinstall. It will not harm what you put on the D:\ Drive. It will just restore C:\ back it's factory state. Then transfer the stuff on D:\ back over to c:\. Only problem with this is that if you have formatted your drive to NTFS, this would probably conflict with the new Fat32 factory state. Anyone know if you can have one partition Fat32, and the other NTFS?

Another option might be to try get an older copy of the registry working. I must admit that I haven't done this on XP so you will have to look in Windows help about 'restoring backup copies of the registry'

Best advice I can give at the moment, if I come up with anything else I will let you know.
