Try the windows repair option first. You get the option when you load the restore cd. If it works it would save you the hassle of reinstalling everything.

It wont even let me load a cd it goes to the black screen first saying it was shut down improperly and what option I would like to use then witch ever option i pick it goes to the BLUE SCREEN.
Is there something i have to push so it runs the cd??:saywhat:

yes, press F12 right after it powers up, it will give you a one-time boot menu.
select boot from cd.
you can do a repair install or in-place upgrade...
sometimes a top 8d is related to symantec drivers, symevent.sys. I have also seen 8D stops from faulty Ram.
Have you made any hardware changes recently?
Do you have Symantec loaded?
