Long story short. My Dell x1 laptop was standing in water about 2 inches deep in a bag.
Almost everything seems to work fine after a few blue screens, false startups, and some blowdrying. My only problem now is the Fn key. I can use the laptop for everything but typing.

For some reason the Fn key is acting like it is being depressed all the time. For example when i press the arrow key, the secondary function clicks in and turns the screen's brightness brighter or dimmer. They keyboard was wet.

Any suggestions?

The best thing to do in those situations is always to let it completely dry before turning the system on or doing anything.... the electronics are suprisingly waterproof as long as no power is added ;).

But obviously it is a little late for that unfortunately. OK, the keyboard is probably stuffed, but first lets make sure there is no residual water or moisture still in the laptop. Please remove power and the battery, and then take off the keyboard following the instructions here (http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/LatX1/en/sm/keyboard.htm#wp1111863). Wipe it all down, and if you discover any moisture please let it dry out (with the keyboard off) before going any further.

Now, re-attach the keyboard and put the lappy all back together. It may have been the connection or some gather moisture causing the problem. If it is still not working right.... then you are going to need a new keyboard (at least). You should be able to order one through Dell spare parts or search for one at ebay or the like. If you still have no luck after swapping over the keyboard it is time to bite the bullet and get Dell technical support involved.
