Is this any good for games? I'm thinking probably not. Looks goood for anything else though. Is a 0.3mp camera not as good as a 1.3mp camera?

Depends on what games u play. CS and HL1 for example will run maxed out. CSS and HL2 will run at 800*600 low settings with fps in the 30s and 40s. Other games newer than that will prolly run even worse, so decide for yourself.

here is the state of gaming on the 5102....

RULES OF THUMB FOR 5102:

mod the standard radeon catalysts for use with xpress1100... do not use AA at any time in any game.... and stay away from opengl games until they fix stuff on 200m and xpress 1100!

- unreal tournament 2004 runs great at 1024x768x32 with everything on high (this resolution instead of 1280x800, since i often play on the projector with the LCD OFF)

- flat out and flat out 2 run great at 1280x800x16

- oblivion is playable if you run it at the lowest resolution with medium settings

- this notebook runs any emulator at extremely fast speeds - rule of thumb is, if the emu uses anything other than openGL (until they fix openGL with 200m/xpress1100), and if the emu is optimized enough to run well on any desktop - it will run well on this notebook

- i dont have time to run any other games besides those above - im very picky and dont have a lot of time to play games - but these run fine. oh yeah and kyodai runs super at max!! HAHA!

ive just installed vista ultimate on the 5102 (i was using the default oem acer mce just yesterday). everything runs great, just have to do windows update for drivers, and then install one bit from the ENE cardbus XP drivers... orbicam doesnt work, bcause no drivers, but also i think mine is defective (or the usb ports - we shall see in vista if they misbehave or if its just the orbicam causing probs)

now heres the problem! the VISTA32 asus 7.1 catalysts that i modded to work with a Sapphire radeon 9600 256mb... i cannot mod them for the xpress1100. :(

so atm, aero is working out of the box, with a 200M driver :(

Anyone who gets vista catalyst 7.1 to run on vista.. plz post
