I just got done formatting my HD and installing everything. I wanted to know were can I find the USB 2.0 Drivers as well as the fire wire?
Also do I need to install drivers for the S Video?
How do I get my system to auto pic which operating system to use. Since doing this I gete a screen which as me if I want to use Windox XP twice. How do I get it to choose the first one?
1st thing, it's asking you which OS you want, b/c there are two instants of it in the boot ini file. Take 1 out. USB 2.0 drivers are usually on the resource cd, along with the Intel chipset driver, should be installed 1st. If you install the drivers in an off order, you may take a performance hit. Usually goes, Chipset, Ata (storage), QFE for XP along with USB 2.0, video, sound (depending if XP did not take care of it or not. Usually Soundmax.) You shouldn't have to install anything S video or firewire related. It should be handled by the Chipset driver. Anywho, that's off the top of my head, good luck.
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
This is a sample of a boot.ini file. Normally, if an OS gives you a choice to boot from 2 of the same OS, this is where you can fix it w/out having to reinstall. Underneath {operating systems], will be 2 instants of multi...blah...blah..blah..windows XP....blah. remove 1, save and exit.
