Hi everyone. I'm having a major issue with my Dell. One day I had the AC Adaptor wire stretched (pretty far) from my couch and was working etc. Now, when I plug in my AC Adaptor to the back of the laptop the scree GOES DIM and you can't click on anything-nothing wants to run. When I unplug the AC Adaptor, the screen brightens up and it works, but the battery eventually goes dead and I'm without a computer (which has a bunch of my business stuff on it)! :thumbdown I tried a new Universal AC Adaptor and guess what...same result. My computer is also running very, very, slowly. I'm ready to go buy a new computer, can anyone please help me with this?:headbang:

If the problem occurs on a seperate adapter then its like the mainboard is failing or has failed and needs replacing. If your not under warranty (im going to assume its not since your so willing to purchase a new machine) Your going to have to consider scrapping the old girl for parts (which could fetch you quite the pretty penny) and consider investing into a new machine. Although this time around ensure a lengthy warranty (2 years is the BARE minimum) so something like this doesnt happen again.
