Hello guys,

I have a 700m and it's worked beautifully until lately. I didnt use my computer for about 4 days and I noticed my computer a little sluggish and it seemed like a trojan got on my computer somehow. I later got a virus and just thought I should just format. I formatted and now my processor seems to just be working really hard when it shouldnt really have to. I have a NHC so I am able to see my processor speeds.

For example, on AIM, if I move the buddy list up and down (scroll up and down) the processor speed spikes up to 1.8ghz. If I have VLC media player to play music (normally use iTunes) and just open up firefox after a reboot, the music skips. My 700m is a 1.8ghz, 1.25mb of ram computer. I never had this kind of problem and thought it was my driver but I downloaded the driver straight from Intel and still having the same problem.

Any idea what could be the problem?

Yes, I did check to see what processes are taking up a lot of CPU usage. Nothing out of the ordainary snce I just formatted.

Is there a website you could direct me to for dust cleaning?

The easiest method although not reccomended is to pick up a cant of dust spray which is just a can of compressed air. While the computer is OFF blow the can into the vents of the 700m and you should see dust blast out of the other side. This is a sloppy method but involves minimal work on your part with minimal risk to the system.

The better way is to go to Dell.com in the support section look up manuals for 700m Breakdown and basically take apart the midsection of the notebook and gently clean out dust thats visible HOWEVER the 700m is extrememly difficult to take apart to I advise the method I mentioned before.
