Hello, I am in need of a new lcd screen for my d600 as it is out of warranty and is showing lines running down one particular part of the screen, which I know is due to a connection fault at the top of the lcd that cannot be fixed cheaply.

Anyway, my question is what screens are compatible with this laptop? I know I could get the exact same one that came out of it but these usually go for a lot of money and there must be some other ones that will work. I'm guessing that most laptops use similar lcds I would just like to know what in particular I should be looking out for when looking for a replacement. It doesn't seem anywhere likes to list all the compatible lcds as they prefer to make you think you have to get the exact same screen at a greater cost rather than something cheaper but just as compatible. As you can imagine I have all the leads so it's just a question of the basic lcd part working in my computer.

I'm expecting that there are probably a few things to look out for that, maybe lcds with certain power ratings, the same types of connection and I guess something describing how the electronics work, which there are possibly a few standards.

Thanks!

Michael

Your best bet is to just go with another LCD from a D600. They're easy to find on eBay for under $200.

How are you so certain its the LCD and not the videocard or say... the flex cable connecting the LCD to the videocard?

The problem the OP is describing is definitely an issue with the panel Machina. Usually problems with the flex cable or Video card effect the ENTIRE LCD...not just a section.
