Recently, my hard drive crashed; I was issued a new one. I reformatted, but then began getting BSODs with a stop error:

I've run memory tests, CHKDSK, and have reformatted as well, but the issue persists. It occurs when I am using Firefox or IE, appears to be completely random, and I haven't found anything on MS KB at all.
Any ideas? It's really annoying...

AFD.sys is a core system file for windows relating to your winsock. What this means is the BSOD will only hapen while your online which is why you only get the crash when your web surfing. First thing you can try is get updated intel drivers for your wifi card (if thats how you connect online) If not that then fresher broadcom drivers for your ethernet card. I would also contact DELL about getting your Intel 2200 card replaced because you suspect its faulty. You use tell them that your constantly getting crashes relating to online use only even after a format and that a driver update did not help as well.

Thanks for your reply! Appreciate it.
A few thoughts to your suggestions -- interestingly, the blue screens only happened after I downloaded the updated 2200BG drivers this past January. Previous reformats with older drivers did not have this issue. I did check, and I am running the latest Broadcom and Intel wireless drivers. Also, though it happens when I'm connected wirelessly, normally I'm plugged in. I asked for a new mobo; would this help? Should I ask for a new 2200BG as well?

Thanks for the reply.
I think I've fixed the issue -- long story made short, it may be a software issue. I'm running the identical version of Kerio Personal Firewall I was running last year, but for some reason, this time around, it's crashing my machine... or so I hope. Any more false leads and I'm going to go berserk.

Just to be on the safe side id still get the wifi card replaced. If your still getting the crashes then we can pretty much assume its completely software. No sense in getting a headache for not covering all your bases no?

Absolutely. I'll give Dell a hollar. Appreciate your help!
I'll probably post a minidump to be sure... is Techspot.com a good place to post it?
