It's a long story - the short of it is, I need to replace an Inspiron 8200 bios with a Latitude c840 bios.
I was able to flash the Inspiron BIOS over the original Latitude BIOS on this unit - hd install wouldn't let me, but I selected the "make floppy" option and then that works.
Tried the same thing in reverse to flash it back to Latitude BIOS, but the floppy says it's the wrong bios for my system and exits.
Anyway to force a bios flash in a situation like this where the system tells you its the wrong bios and exits?
Any help greatly appreciated.
