Looking for a good 802.11g MiniPCI card with linux drivers

Thinking about getting an Atheros AR5006EX MiniPCI card for my Dell E1705 laptop because the ndiswrapper + the broadcom chipset it usues is really awful and doesnt work well.

Can anyone speak to the compatibility of this card with Ubuntu (Edgy and Feisty) or recommend a really good card that has linux drivers so I don't have to use ndiswrapper?

atheros works wonders and magic in linux. well...completely because of the awesome job the people at madwifi have been doing the last few years. i am an atheros user myself and will tell you that besides *possibly* intel i would never get anything but atheros on my linux box. that said ubuntu has support out of the box for it, as well as most other "user friendly" distros, if a distro doesn't support it just install madwifi (madwifi.org) and you're in business

I'll recommend Intel. Intel has promised to deliver support for their entire product line for Linux BEFORE product ship. It's really the first vendor to make that kind of commitment. I use the 2200BG on my Dell M70....works fine. I have used the Dell Broadcomm's as well.. but obviously, that requires ndiswrapper (sigh).

My Toshiba has the Atheros 5006EG wireless card and Edgy won't support it. I tried the MadWifi drivers and such with no luck. I have a PCMCIA wireless card that works well under Edgy so it is a non factor.

I downloaded Feisty and ran it under Live CD situation and the built in wireless works. I am waiting until april and then Edgy will upgrade itself to Feisty. This may work for you as well. www.ubuntuforums.org is a good place for ubuntu info.
