8600 Motherboard dying?

It appears that the motherboard on my 8600a is shorting out.

I would like to replace the motherboard. Dell lists only refub boards on its site.

Does anyone know what other Dell motherboards will fit? Will a Latitude 820 fit in a 8600? A way to upgrade a Pentium M to a Core 2 Duo??

A Dell Latitude D800 board would fit your system. The D820 is a completely different board for a D800.

A board from a 8600, another D800, one from an 8500 or a M60. The 8500 is an Pentium 4 M Chipset (845PM) while the others are 855PM for a Pentium M. All of them hae the same form factor
