I just purchased the TX series notebook. I don't do much gaming aside from RollerCoaster Tycoon once and a while so I thought this would be the perfect computer for travelling (which I do a lot of).

The main reason I got the computer was for its size and battery life. I don't need a ton of extra new fangled gizmos to go with it, but I figured this would be good enough for what I like to do with it.

Below are the specs:

Intel® Core™ Solo Processor U1500 Ultra Low Voltage
1GB (512MBx2) PC2-4200
80GB Ultra ATA
DVDRW
11.1" WXGA LCD
Bluetooth
And some random other things
Windows Vista Business

So far the first thing I noticed is the screen. It feels flimsy, but thats compared to my Dell 8600. I don't think I'll break it, but will take some getting used to. The picture quality is amazing though, and I can tell I'm going to like viewing movies, etc on here.

I like the size of the unit itself, the keyboard does seem a little small. I'm trying to adjust to using the touch pad and click keys while typing, its a little weird because of the small size, but nothing that a few hours typing on won't fix.

These are my initial observations, I'll be adding more later after I get a chance to use it a bit more. I'm sorry its not very technical, but I'm not a technical person. :)

I'm curious, how much battery life do you actually get from it? Seems like it should put out some fairly impressive numbers (minutes wise that is).

Hope you're enjoying your new toy btw, and that it's meeting your needs well (which from the specs you put out seems like it should be).

Letting it just sit, I can get more than 8 hours. Using it I can get around 5-6 or so. I really haven't timed it precisely but on long flights overseas I haven't had any issues where I've wanted more power and it hasn't been there.

I am enjoying it, the size makes it nice and it actually fits in my purse and I speed through the security lines. My husband has an Alienware that I've lugged around for him, and I felt like I was carrying a small child.

That's a pretty impressive battery life actually, quite respectable and I imagine it's size lends quite well to it's portability like you mentioned. Didn't think it could fit into a woman's purse, wow that's small. Never saw anything that small before besides the other sony 10.1'' one and it's probably not that much different in size from that 1 I'd imagine.

Haha I can just imagine this tiny little guy next to a 17'' alienware laptop. People would probably think it was a removable hard drive on the alienware or maybe the battery.
