first post here,

I'm not very knowledgable with computers, so sorry if I make the post more confusing than it needs to be. Anyway, I'm having problems with the port that lets me charge my laptop. I plug in my adapter and have to wiggle it around for a few minutes until I find that right spot, then have to hold it in that position to get a charge. It's not the adapter, since i'm on my third one.

Anyway, I went to a computer repair shop and they told me it would be like $170 to fix. Thats money I'm not really willing to spend. They told me it's only a $40 dollar part. Is it possible to fix myself? and are there any websites that explain this problem in depth with how to fix it? or is my only real option to let the computer shop fix it?

thanks

Your charging board is likely the problem and the part itself can cost 10-30 dollars however installing the part requires a good deal of knowledge and experience with that sort of thing I would not recommend trying to repair it yourself. Your better off paying for a professional to fix it or replace the motherboard altogether.
