my E1705 is getting slower, i only have 512 ram, if i upgraded it to 1 gb will this help alot?

i did have 1 gb, but gave it to a friend in need and now i have his 512

You should get 2 gb for best optimal performance.
Get your 512 back. :)

how big of a difference would it make? is there a way to test ur ram?

The difference is hughe, if you play games.
like BF2 eats up your ram.
