Replace Core Solo with Core Duo in E1705

I have a roughly 1 year old Dell E1705 with a Core Solo. I have recently upgraded the RAM and am curious if I could remove the Core Solo and replace it with a Core Duo. I don't know if the bios etc will support it, but I know these two chips are the same.
