ATI Drivers

Do Sager (8886) report as being powered by or built by?

What experience have you Linux users had with ATI drivers under Linux? Which drivers are fastest? Do the new ATI ones work, and if so are they any good?

Hate to link another reseller, but powernotebooks has a "linux forum" (http://www.powernotebooks.com/forum/) and I've noticed many posts about ATI drivers.

The forum isn't as active as Sagerforums, but I know that Joel (of powernotebooks) checks it often.
