9750 owners, or any owner of a clevo d900 shell, I really need your help. The hypersonic forum has so few viewers so I figured you guys would be a bigger help.

My hypersonic aviator fx7, which is pretty much the same as a 9750, has a bad video card and needs replacement. My nvidia go 7900gtx 512mb has crapped out. It has given me problems ever since upgrading to it from my go 7800gtx 256mb. Artifacts and random BSODs would occur every so often. In the past year the laptop has become unusable as I now get BSODs every few minutes. I am 100% sure this has to do with the video card as I have read of other go7900gtx owners having the same problem until they replaced the card. Apparently there was a bad batch when they were first produced, and I got one of them.

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement card other than ebay? Does anyone know if there is a newer model Nvidia Go that I could use that will fit in my aviator fx7/d900k? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I just spoke with Frank at Sager. The NP8760 is on back order through the week of November 30th. I was willing to make the jump, but guess that I have more time to think about it. Maybe the ATI GPU or GTX 300M will be available

I recently posted in the general form that I was in the market for a new laptop. Since I have started reading about Sager/Clevo laptops I have to say my interest is peaked.

Now for a question that is kind of bothering me. What are the build materials like on the laptop? My past two Sony's have had a brushed metal palm rest. Before that I had two Dells, one of which is made out of cheap plastic.

How are the Sager (Particularly the 8690) laptops built? Is it all plastic and cheap feeling? Is it made out of plastic that may start to crack from temp changes?

why, in my sager np8662, does whenever i shut my computer down, powerbiosserver (the program that controls the three hot keys near the power switch) record a critical stop error... or is there something more than just that I should be worrying about that is causing this behavior.

Also, I have noticed that MSE is causing windows explorer crashes in windows 7 and when I had vista, vista as well. Is anyone else getting this?

I was wondering if anyone could give me a quick run down/review on the 8690s onboard sound quality? I just ordered one and would like to know if I should also be ordering an external soundcard. The Clevo-based alienware I owned years ago had really terrible onboard sound that caused me to eventually order a soundblaster card that was excellent, but many of the externals on the market today appear to be junk.
