hmmm... i think as it stands i'm just going to get an emachines m6805 for $1250, give that to my sister when i get back, and then look for a lappy with AMD and ati 9700. too bad there's nothing that's got that right now. oh, and...

yeah i looked at the ferrari, but i don't like the fact that i can't easily switch out the internal sodimm, not to mention the extra $ i'll have to spend to get a new 7200 hd and more ram. i think now i'll just be waiting for an AMD...

what's the slated release for it? and since it's sony i think it'll be way over 3K once its decked out...

wow, that really makes the dothan look like even more of a disappointment. i had heard rumors of the amd not working so well with teh ati 9700 128mb. anyone know more about this?

one more thing, is the dothan 1.8 64 bit or not like AMD? anyone else have thoughts as to which of the two I should get? edit: nm, found out the dothan isn't. that sucks. any smokin 64 bit lappys out there?

it wasn't the battalion that had problems with hitting multiple keys at the same time (i.e. can't hit hold one key and strike others like while gaming) was it? rincewind--you had the battalion and returned it for the cl56?
