I just had a three months of these BSOD's untill I catched what the problem was..
I was playing WoW , COD4 , Crysis , and only had bsod's on WoW , then discovered when switching from x4 multisampling to x1 , the bsod's gone.
Seriously , I don't believe it's vista's fault.
now I would suggest doing the following :
1. Install a new driver , suggest to get something new and generic from www.laptopvideo2go.com
2. I don't know which software you use to measure...
I just can't find a replacement for IQ8fanGUI for my E1705 , this program have features I can't find anywhere :
1. Graphical interface to show tempartures.
2. Temparture icon on the taskabr.
3. fanspeed control.
this guy had the same problem with a diffrent laptop though :
turns out it was a problem with a Robson driver , dunno if your problem is the same but worth a try
I would buy it if you won't.
great price for 7950gtx , usually goes for 400+ , also this seems new as the seller works alot with selling dell components (buy's a complete laptops and selling them as parts).

There was an ebay store with a lot of FX2500, but I can't find it so I guess it's gone now.
