I think that the d500e is a economical model of the d500p. This is based on the fact hat the d400e is the eco model.

I was thinking of running Gentoo on my future 64 bit laptop. I am currently using Gentoo on my laptop and it works great. Gentoo also have a 64 bit distro. It might be a bit harder to install then Mandrake but it gives you at lot more...

Aaah but in Finland you can only get the ones with 3000+. So would it be possible to change it to a 3200+ yourself? and what about he vid card? Edit: Does it support dual ddr 400?

Would it be possible to change(manually) atleast the prosessor in it to a 3200+ instead of the 3000+? And what about the graphicscard, could one change that one too? If so would it be a better buy than the 8790?
