I too have these problems. I tried the beta drivers but they give me the same bsod errors. I have now tried the Accellerator versions from another thread in here and so far they seem to be stable I will soon see over the next few days....
In the UK you should received your laptop in about 3-4 weeks. Maybe less depending on whether they have all the stuff you want in stock.
When I got to Phase 9, 4 days later it was at Phase 14 and then shipped.

Apex, a re-install sounds like your best bet. You may also want to remove any remnants of the ATI drivers with Driver Cleaner. http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner/
